Wanda Christian, 87 – of Galloway returned to the Lord on May 5, 2022 at her home. She was a loving and caring mother to her children, John P Christian, Stephan Christian, Michael Christian, and Susan Christian. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband, John Christian and warmhearted older sister, Jean Nowak. Born in Montreal, Canada, Wanda spent most of her early adult years working as a secretary for numerous institutions in the downtown Montreal area especially with the well-known Sun Life Company. She was multi-lingual and spoke fluent English, French, Polish, Russian, and Ukrainian. In her free time, Wanda enjoyed travelling through Quebec with her friends and sisters Jean and Mary. They had many fond memories of the great outdoors and scenic views of the St. Lawrence River. She occasionally took trips to Atlantic City in the late 1950’s where she would eventually meet and marry her future husband, John. In 1959, Wanda immigrated to the United States and travelled extensively within the country with her husband until finally calling New Jersey home. She was very outgoing and sociable and belonged to such clubs as the Elks, VFW, and Moose. In the early 1970’s, she worked alongside her husband at the famous family-owned eatery Capt. Bill’s Seafood Restaurant in Bridgeton. She later worked for the old Wheaton Glass Factory in Millville, New Jersey from the late 1970’s into the early 1980’s. In the mid 1980’s, she and the family moved to Galloway, New Jersey and started a new career in the casino industry. For over 22 years, she worked as a slot booth cashier for Trump Castle. She was one of the company’s most distinguished employees and received many awards and accolades from her superiors (especially from Ivana Trump) for providing outstanding service. Wanda also had many interests and hobbies throughout her long life. She enjoyed playing shuffleboard, dancing, gambling at the casinos, ice skating, tobogganing, and her famous puzzle books. In her younger days, she was an avid and prolific bowler breaking 300 with great ease and winning many tournaments and personal trophies. She was the greatest mom in the world and will be sadly missed by her family. Remember mom – “We’re a team!!” You are always in our thoughts and prayers. We love you always!
