Curlott, Samuel W. "Skip", 57, passed away peacefully on July 12th, with his family by his side, after a 7 year battle with cancer that never took away his sense of humor and ability to conquer and go on no matter what obstacle that was put before him. Skip was born and raised in Absecon and graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1977. He was a man of many talents, starting as a waiter at the Smithville Inn, as many from Absecon did. He then moved up to the Ram's Head Inn, where he learned to make a killer Caesar Salad, and then on to Bally's Park Place. Skip finally got a real job at South Jersey Gas Company, before finding his passion as a salesman at South Shore Auto World where he could sell a ketchup popsicle to a woman wearing white gloves. Skip enjoyed coaching his sons on the fields of Pleasantwoods. His hobbies in life were the game of golf, gardening, reading, family game night, dinner discussions, and garage talks. Skip leaves behind his mother, Louise Rinehart; his sisters Linda and Laraine (Al); and his brother, Steve (Angela). He is survived by his best friend and wife, Michele; his sons, Ryan and Jason (Christina); his daughters, Lindsay (Tyler) and Jessica (Douglas); his 3 beautiful grandchildren, Jaxson, Harper, and Presley; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. We will be celebrating Skip's life at our home, come raise a glass to the old boy on Tuesday, July 19th from 12:00 - 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Skip's name to the GABT (Greater Atlantic Bluefish Tournament Inc.) P.O. Box 1633, Absecon, NJ 08201. The GABT foundation is Neighbors Helping Neighbors Fight Cancer. Arrangements have been entrusted to Wimberg Funeral Home 211 E. Great Creek Road, Galloway 609-641-0001.
