March 1, 1937 - August 24, 2017
Dr. Robert James McNulty, of Galloway, formerly Upper Township, passed away suddenly, at home, on August 24, 2017. Bob was born and raised in Philadelphia and proudly attended West Catholic High School for Boys, LaSalle College, and PCOM Medical School. He was a well-known emergency room physician in South Jersey for more than fifty years. Throughout this prestigious career, Bob served as a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, holding reputable titles to include Chief of Staff at Kennedy University Hospital, Director of the Emergency Department at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, as well as Director of the Emergency Departments for AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center at both Mainland and City campuses. Though Bob helped to save countless lives, he would tell you that his greatest accomplishment was his family. Bob was passionate about fishing and was a formidable captain of many boats that trolled the Canyons for decades. “Florida Bob” could be found trailering his boat and family to the Keys every year with an ear to ear smile on his face. He possessed a witty sense of humor and often seized the opportunity to make others laugh. He had a love for early morning pastries paired with a strong cup of coffee, milkshakes, dining out at his signature favorites, or relaxing on his back deck while watching hummingbirds and drinking a gin and tonic. Bob relished in the games and shenanigans he played with all of his grandchildren, as well as creating whimsical nicknames for each one of them. Bob was also a true Philadelphia sports fan, ready to discuss with anyone why the teams were failing and what they should be doing to succeed. He will certainly be missed by many, but the impact that he has had can only be described as immeasurable and unforgettable. Bob is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dianne, whom he adored as the one and only true love of his life. Cherishing his memory forever are his eight children: Michael, Maureen (William), Kathleen, Colin (Kelly), Megan, Patricia, Erin (John) and Ryan, who have been beyond lucky to call him Dad. His legacy will undoubtedly live on through his twelve grandchildren: Justin, Robert, Ryan, Maura, Riley, Jake, Kieran, Lauren, Connor, Logan, Brennan and Declan, all of whom have been blessed to have him as their Grandpa. Bob is also survived by his brothers Tom (Dot) and Fran (Linda), as well as his beloved yorkie, Maggie. A viewing will be held on Sunday, August 27th, from 5:00-7:00 pm, at Wimberg Funeral Home, 211 Great Creek Road, Galloway 609-641-0001. A viewing, from 8:30-9:30 am, followed by a mass, will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 591 New Jersey Avenue, Absecon, on Monday, August 28th.
