Phillip Lawrence Vogelman

July 18, 1994 - April 17, 2018

Phillip Lawrence Vogelman, 23, of Egg Harbor City, left this world peacefully on Tuesday, April 17, 2018. Phillip was born on July 18, 1994 in Atlantic City, NJ. He was a lifelong resident of Egg Harbor City and grew up playing football and baseball for the Egg Harbor City Crusaders. He was a graduate of Absegami High School Class of 2012, where he also played football for the Absegami Braves. He was a Carpenter’s Apprentice with Local 623 of NJ with the aspirations of following in his father’s footsteps to become a Union NJ Carpenter. Phillip was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan, having attended and enjoyed many games with his favorites – his father, brother, and cousins, Timothy and Jeffrey. He loved all of the Philadelphia sports teams and also attended numerous Phillies, 76ers, and Flyers games. Phillip was a kind and gentle soul. He was a remarkable and beautiful young man who left us much, much too soon. He will be loved dearly and always in our hearts, having left an unforgettable imprint on everyone he crossed paths with. He is predeceased by his father, Timothy Lawrence Vogelman and his grandfather, Lawrence F. Vogelman. Phillip is survived by his mother, Lynne A. (Hoy) Vogelman; twin sister, Jillian Helen Vogelman (Jason); brother, Raymond W. Fitton, Jr. (Jessica); sister, Jennifer Fitton (Shena); most cherished nephews, Raymond W. Fitton, III, and Chase Robert Fitton; and his nieces, Madilyn Claire Fitton and Carmella Rae Bender. He is also survived by cousins, Cara Schubert, Timothy Schubert, Gabrielle Steeb, and Jeffrey Steeb; Grandfather, Donald R. Hoy, Sr. and wife, Linda A. Hoy; his Uncle Donald R. Hoy, Jr., wife, Pamela Hoy; his cousin, Allyson Hoy; his Uncle John H. Hoy; Grandmother, Mary Vogelman; and his Aunt Patricia Vogelman, Aunt Meg Vogelman Steeb, and Uncle Jeffrey Steeb. There will be a memorial service on Sunday, April 22nd from 10-12pm at Wimberg Funeral Home, 400 Liverpool Ave, Egg Harbor City 609-965-0357. Interment will immediately follow at the Egg Harbor City Cemetery. For condolences or directions, please visit wimbergfuneralhome.com.
