Joseph P. Ganiel, 89, of Pomona, died peacefully on Saturday January 15. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years: Bernadette (Becker) Ganiel, 6 children: Sister Kathleen Ganiel, OSF of Winston-Salem, NC; Rev. Joseph Ganiel of Runnemede, NJ; Richard Ganiel (Renee); Annette Kubricki (Stephen); James Ganiel; and Mary Smail (Richard). He is also survived by his brother Adolph Ganiel. He took great delight in his 12 grandchildren: Jessica Ganiel, Craig Ganiel (Laura), Jolene Falkiewicz (Joseph), Valerie Welsh (Andrew), Korey Kubricki, Jon Kubricki, Amelia Fifth (Adam), Richard Smail, Jr. (Lizette), Sister Marie Therese of the Heart of Jesus, OCD, Erika Chapman (Billy), Sarah Conti (Marco), Joshua Smail, and his 16 great grandchildren. Joseph attended St. Nicholas Catholic School and graduated from Egg Harbor High School in 1951. He served in the United States Navy and was employed at Lenox China for 29 years. He was a life long member of St. Nicholas/Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish and a Secular Franciscan over 50 years. Visitation will be at Wimberg Funeral Home on Thursday January 20 from 9:00 - 10:30 am at the Wimberg Funeral Home 400 Liverpool Avenue, EHC. NJ 08215. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am at St. Nicholas Catholic Church 525 St. Louis Ave, Egg Harbor City, NJ followed by private burial at the Egg Harbor City Cemetery.
