April 14, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we announce our father Jose A Caban Sr. went to be with the Lord on April 14th, 2021 at the age of 80 at Deborah Hospital in Browns Mills, NJ. He parted the world to be reunited with his eternal love Sol Fernandez. Jose was born on November 11th, 1940 in Ponce Puerto Rico. He was a faith believe of the Catholic Church and the Virgin Mary. Jose loved to garden, landscape, and listen to all kinds of music. He had an undying passion for baseball/softball; his favorite team being the Boston Red Sox. He enjoyed hanging out and playing dominoes with his friends and family. But, above all he loved his family – or as he would say “I love you too much”. Jose was such a kind soul who wore his heart out on his sleeve. He was loving, caring, giving, and had the ability to selflessly help anyone in need. Anyone that had the pleasure of meeting him instantly fell in love with him as a person. To most, he will always be known as “Papi” and will be missed by so many. Jose’s life will forever be cherished in hearts and the lives of his children, Miguel (Mike), Jose Jr. (Chelo), Judith Melissa, Eliana (Nani), and Jose; his in laws, Olga Caban, Devon Moncrieffe, and Maryna Giraldo; his grandchildren, Miguel (Kito), Leandra (LiLi), Kevin (Goldo), Jessica, Amelia (Nanu), Angel, Catalina, Andrew, Ashton, Ayden (Aj), and Austin (El Bailarin); his great granddaughters, AnnaLynn and Isabella Easterday; his brother and sister, Raul and Naydara. He is predeceased by his twin brother, Papo; his mother, Donicia Caban; his father, Ezequiel Perez; and his brother, Carlos. We will be receiving friends and family on Thursday, April 22nd from 10:00 to 11:00 AM with a service starting at 11:00 AM. Interment will immediately follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
