James Chivalette II
December 24, 1991 - March 3, 2022
James Chivalette II, 30 of Ventnor passed away on March 3, 2022 after fighting a heroin addiction. A local punk-rock legend, Jim was known throughout the area as not only a great musician, but a wonderful friend. What he leaves behind is a legacy of laughter, even in the most inappropriate times. He played in the bands: FFAN, Junkyard Dog, Gutter Drunk, and No Comply. During his time on the scene, Jim amassed countless friends and left a lasting mark on the community. Jim was a goofball, and would rather us not cry tears of sadness for him, but remember the times he made us smile. Like countless others, he was taken by the poison that is heroin, and if there's someone you know, that is in it's grip, just love and support them the best you can. Jim was called JJ by his close family and is survived by his father, James Chivalette, his brother/best friend, Sean Chivalette, his brother, Timothy Chivalette, his aunts; Shaynne Byers-Biondi & Shawnne Byers, his cousins; Rachel & Nick Grasso, David Heath, Megan Biondi, & Lauren Biondi, his grandmothers; Josephine Chivalette & Cathy Byers, his fur-son Thor, his long-time partner Emily Marques, and all the friends and familly that are too long to list. Jim gets to rest now and see his mommom, Candy Byers, his poppop, Paul Byers, and his mom, Shannon Byers, who he's missed so deeply this last year. Thank you for all the love, and keeping Jim's memory alive. We will be holding a memorial at Bourre in Atlantic City on Thursday, March 10th. from 4pm until 7pm. Then we will have a concert for him at 7pm where John Hurden, Will Boothby, Sean Chivalette, and all his old band-mates will play in his honor.
