Lowndes, Dennis G.,70, of Egg Harbor Township passed away Saturday, May 7, 2022 at AtlanticCare Medical Center. Dennis grew up in Egg Harbor Township and graduated from Oakcrest High School in 1970. He then enlisted in the Navy and graduated from the Navy Corps School and became a Corpsman. He was honorably discharged and went on to become a police officer for Egg Harbor Township. Dennis later became a carpenter and was a member of Local 623. He enjoyed woodworking and dabbled in photography. Dennis was a fun-loving guy and always made us laugh. He will be missed along with his catch phrases- “yowza” and “groovy baby”. He is predeceased by his parents, George W. Lowndes and Mary V. D’Arpe-Lowndes; and cousins whom he thought of as siblings, Michele and Jim Lyons. Dennis is survived by siblings, Deanna Easterday, Thomas Lowndes (Marylou) and Denise Tanner; his nieces Michele Ballard (Mike), Shannon DiPietro (Donnie), and Keri Horner (Steve); and his nephew, J. Tanner. He is also survived by his loving best friend, Karen Troup; his cousins, Patty McCauley (James) and Alfred (Butch) D’Arpe; as well as many great nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends and family are invited to his visitation Thursday, May 12 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Wimberg Funeral Home 211 E Great Creek Road, Galloway, NJ. Graveside service immediately following at the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery in Estell Manor, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dennis's name to St. Jude's Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the S.P.C.A.
